ULTRA-FROST FINISHES
FINISH		Finish Descriptions
	CR1	Crystal Finish on Front, Matte Finish on Back. This produces somewhat muted colors in the red, green and yellow ranges.
	CR2	Crystal Finish on Front and Back. This finish is textured on both sides, and allows for extremely vibrant colors. Textured finish is a light diffuser that creates a unique effect in the light. NICE!
	MT	Matte Front and Crystal Back. This finish is smooth on one side and textured on the other. It allows for extremely vibrant colors. The smooth texture of the matte finish is very subtle and produces a very beautiful card.
	KR	Krome Front - Crystal Back. Chrome is an extremely smooth, high gloss finish that is very elegant and classy. It is a bit prone to scratches but otherwise has great eye appeal.

P lease allow 2-4 weeks for the production of ULTRA-FROST "mini" (Full Color 17 mil White Translucent Plastic Business Cards) 2-4 weeks is the approximate time it takes to 1. review your art and order - 2. typeset and layout your card or preflight your submitted artwork - 3. email your proof - 4. receive your online or fax approval - 5. print, cut, package and ship your cards. Most orders fit in the 2 week time frame but at times due to the mechanical nature of foil stamping, the complexity of print job, errors in art submission, changes to an order in production, long wait times for proof approvals, and delays or errors with shipping companies, there may be additional delays.

Quantities larger than 1,000 may require additional production time. Round corners may add (4) days to your order. Please order early and let us know if you have a specific time frame that you need your cards or special production requirements not listed here.

NOTE: All projections on production time are estimations and should NOT be confused with delivery guarantees.

Options for Ultra-Frost plastic business cards include;

a. round corners are available in 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" and 1/2" sizes. Cards can be ordered with different cuts on each corner. (for example: you can order a card with a 1/2" round corner on 3 sides, and a square corner on the bottom right. | see example

b. custom cuts and custom bleeds are available for an additional cost. Bleeds are standard on Ultra-Frost "mini" Cards. Be sure to add the extra bleed area on your artwork, preferably at least 1/8" on each side.

c. multi-names - shells - quantity discounts | Ultra Frost cards may be ordered in batches per name. For example; you can order 1,000 cards and split the order between 10 names at 100 each name. To receive the multi-name price, you would have to have similar layouts and colors. This works best when you have 1 person that wants 500 cards and wants them split between 5 different color schemes. (Cyrex) or you have 1 layout that would be shared between cards with only name and contact info changes. Shell printing on our Frost Plastic cards is not available. Pricing for larger quantities can be found online. Please call for additional details regarding your particular multi-name requirements.

d. rush orders | Rush orders (minimum 7 days in plant) are available for a minimum $85 fee. Our rush production charge will put your order into preferred order status and at the front of our production cycle. Please keep in mind exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed due to possible shipment delays, carrier exceptions, etc. Please note that rush production is based upon timely submission of your order, payment, suitable artwork and your final proof approval. (Rush production should be accompanied with 2 day or next day shipping.) Certain areas (Hawaii, Canada, Alaska) do not qualify for rush shipping as well as certain rural areas. Please contact us for specific requirements before you order. (We reserve the right to cancel rush production charges based on an individual order basis and refund your fees paid).

Ultra Frost "mini" color plastic business cards are created using a digital hi-resolution large format inkjet press, directly printing onto the plastic substrate and then applying a pressure sensitive protective laminate in 1 of 4 finishes. This process allows for great detail but keep in mind that large coverage areas will require a bit more drying time.

a. Professional Graphics Programs
Use professional graphics programs to setup your digital files, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Freehand, Quark Xpress. These programs have a bit of a learning curve, but will give you superior results when it comes to high quality output. Please note there is an additional charge to process Microsoft Products for printing. We do not advise the use of Publisher, Powerpoint or Word for the production of professional graphics for professional printing.

b. Standard File Formats
We'd love to receive your digital files in the native file format of the program that you use. If you choose to use another graphics program such as Corel Draw, AutoCad, etc., we require that you save your file in a high resolution standard file format such as, EPS, TIFF, PDF, etc. Don't forget to include your linked graphics, embedded files and fonts used in your documents. Whenever possible convert your fonts to outlines or curves.

c. Color Space
If you are using a raster based product such as Photoshop, please setup your file in RGB. Since the media starts off as white there is no need to apply any special layers or cutouts. Printing on our Ultra-Frost plastic is just like printing on standard paper. For vector or page layout files simply setup your file as RGB or CMYK and place your tif, eps or jpg images in your layout. Since we are ripping to CMYK, you are welcome to send your final files in CMYK.

d. Document - Image Size - Resolution
If using a raster based product such as Photoshop, set your resolution to 300 DPI minimum | Standard card size and image areas are 3.5" x 1.5", 3.5" x 1" and 2" x 2". If your card has a bleed pleased add .125" on all sides. Vector programs (Illustrator, Corel) or page layout programs (Quark, Indesign) are resolution independent, so there are no worries about resolution. Placed images however will need to retain the same resolution (300 dpi)

e. Bounding Boxes and Crops
Sometimes there are parts of your document that you don't want included on your final print. Use a bounding box to show the area that you want printed on the final document. As an alternative, you can use crop marks as well. Your bounding box could be used to show custom cuts or round corners as well

f. Thin Lines and Artwork Complexity
We welcome the use of thin lines and complex art on our Ultra-Frost cards. If you can print it on your laser printer or inkjet, we can print it on Ultra-Frost

g. Linked-Imbedded Images
Your graphics program will either imbed your graphic images or provide links to them. Either way it is a good idea to send us the graphics files along with your document. You can either manually collect the images or have your graphics program collect the files automatically.

h. Fonts, Curves and Outlines
Most professional graphics programs now have the option of converting the fonts you use in a digital file to curves or outlines. This retains the look and feel of your digital file and eliminates the possibility of our production personnel using the wrong font when we print your digital file. Always make sure you save your original digital file on your disk, make a duplicate of that file and do the conversions to your duplicate file. That will allow you to go back and make type changes if you need to at a later date. Conversion to curves or outlines eliminates any issues surrounding fonts used in your project, guaranteeing that whatever type layout you see is the same you'll get when we go to press. If your application does not support this feature, please make sure that when you submit your digital file to us, you include any and all fonts used on your digital file.

i. File Compression
We accept compressed files in WINZIP, and Stuffit formats. EXE files are not accepted. Compressed files are subject to the same guidelines as regular files. Please inform us of the original files and formats that are compressed in the file.

Is your file larger than 20 megabytes after compression? We advise you send very large files via standard US Mail, UPS or FEDEX. We accept files on CD and DVD. Send your digital files with a black and white, color laser or inkjet proof to us c/o : Art Department.

Your new Ultra Frost "mini" business cards will be a great addition to your business and marketing campaigns. Great care has been taken in the preparation of your new product and the following are a few pointers to get the most out of your new cards.

Ultra Frost "miniI" cards are made out of high quality plastics. Though durable, this product is waterproof resistant, not water proof and it is not designed for excessive abuse. We advise against leaving your cards in direct sunlight for long periods of time, inside of extremely hot environments (car interiors in the summer). And if you choose to order your card with square corners, watch out for the sharp edges with children and your co-workers.

Treat them with care by enclosing them in a nice business card case, available from Dallas Card Works. Show it off in a dynamic desktop business card display, Horizontal and Vertical card holders are available in clear, black, metal, wood, leather and etc. Don't let your business card make the presentation all by itself.
